Foundation for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Award



Senior administrator Hong Seong-chul of the Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control (KINAC) Department of Management Support received the Minister of Science and ICT award at the annual Women in Science, Engineering and Technology Conference held on November 18, 2021. This was the result his years of hard work and achievements as an ‘outstanding officer’ among those striving to foster female science technology experts at research institutes, universities, etc.

Mr. Hong improved accessibility of women science and technology professionals during employment processes such as campus recruiting, holding seminars, appointing job interviewers, etc., while striving to enhance the status of female science and technology professionals within institutes through women in science, engineering and technology leadership training, meetings with the head of institutes, etc. Contributions were also made in advancing a balance between work and life by making improvements to various systems.



As an outstanding officer, senior administrator Hong released KINAC’s case as online job training for officers of other institutes from the 19th to 26th in October. Through this training, KINAC’s best practices was explained, while emphasizing the importance of hiring and personnel fostering, and making improvements to organizational cultures.

KINAC plans to continue working hard as an excellent institute for fostering women in science, engineering and technology, and for family-friendly management.
