"Soft power needs to be developed through communication and professionalism." said in the 2022 annual kick-off meeting



The KINAC 2022 opening ceremony on January 3 was held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in compliance with the quarantine guidelines. Mr. Yong-Soo Hwang, president of KINAC, praised the employees for their hard work, saying that they have faithfully carried out their duties last year. Based on this, he said he aims to take a step forward as a nuclear power control agency in 2022 together with citizens. Mr. Hwang emphasized the importance of soft power and called for the development of it in each task. Also, he underscored that the employees should stick to the basics, in tandem with understanding various partners, performing tasks thoroughly, and pursuing innovation. In addition, he said that while enhancing the institutional expertise and individual capabilities, a communication culture that listens to the others" voices should be established. This year, regulatory activities will become more active in response to various issues, such as the expansion and operation of temporary used nuclear fuel storage facilities. Therefore, a lot of effort will be required for screening and inspection as well as for deciding the direction of technology development. He then concluded by wishing for 2022 to achieve fruitful results based on efforts to combine individual and organizational development. 


The kick-off ceremony was followed by an award for excellent employees in 2021. Mr. Hyung-joon Yoon won the KINAC person of the year award. Mr. Won-jong Song and other KINAC personnel were recognized as outstanding employees.
