KINAC (Korea Institute of Nuclear Nonproliferation and Control) is a nuclear non-proliferation and security institution and carries out work on Safeguards, export control, physical protection, cybersecurity, research into non-proliferation policies, technical development, as well as training and education. Through these activities, we have contributed towards enhancing Korea’s transparency in its nuclear activities and credibility within the international community.
Established in 2006, KINAC has played a leading role in Korea’s nuclear non-proliferation and nuclear security systems. Korea was approved for a Broader Conclusion by IAEA in recognition of its peaceful and transparent use of nuclear energy and joined the Integrated Safeguards(IS) regime. And we operate rigorous export control regime by enhancing review system.
KINAC successfully passed the IAEA International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) and proved that Korea’s physical protection system works more efficiently than the international standards. We have established a regulatory system for cyber security and also lead in implementing training assessments.
Furthermore, KINAC will work toward regulatory activities supported by the people. By proactively responding to nuclear security issues and researching into policies and technology, we will continue to strive towards our mission in public and social stability. In addition, we will make efforts to increase Korea’s role and contribution within global non-proliferation and nuclear security.
We look forward to your continued support and interest. Thank you.
